About Me

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Sociology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.  After completing my undergraduate degree in sociology from The University of Texas at Austin, I found myself still asking many sociological questions.  I sought the answers to my questions in the form of higher education and graduate school at Ohio State University.  Of course, I quickly learned that once you find an answer, you also find another question.  This is the beauty of knowledge.  My primary research focuses on the relationship formation and fertility behaviors of immigrants in the United States.  I have also conducted research on the marital expectations of women, including single mothers in America.

When not engaged in academic pursuits, I enjoy playing softball, mountain bike riding, and camping.  My husband, Brian, and I love to travel and see new places, try new foods, and be surrounded by new people.  Whenever possible, we bring along our Boston Terrier, Marley.
