Stephen Gavazzi (Ph.D. University of Connecticut, 1991) is Professor of Human Development and Family Science, and is Co-Director of the OSU Center for Family Research. His research program examines the impact of family dynamics on adolescent development, psychopathology, and problem behavior. He is involved in the development and evaluation of a number of family-based programming efforts, including a multifamily psychoeducation group for families containing children with mood disorders, as well as an initiative designed for use with court-involved youth and their families. Currently, a great deal of his work focuses on the use of an Internet-based instrument known as the Global Risk Assessment Device (GRAD), designed to measure the potential risks and needs of adolescents coming to the attention of the juvenile justice system.
