Angela Harvey Sociology-Newark

Angela Harvey (Ph.D. Arizona State University, 2007) is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Ohio State University-Newark. Her research focuses on theoretical and substantive questions in sociology and criminology concerning: the organizational contexts of juvenile courts; racial/ethnic, gender, and class disparities in outcomes for youth in juvenile courts; conceptualizations of children as a social category; the implementation and consequences of juvenile justice policies; and outcomes for youth involved in courts and social programs. She is currently working on a mixed-method study of how court actors make the competency to stand trial (CST) decision and the consequences of this decision in juvenile court.
