The Criminal Justice Research Center (CJRC) requests proposals relating to research on "Crime and Criminal Justice." Consistent with our mission of fostering policy-relevant research on these topics, we are inviting proposals for three types of awards for proposed periods between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009: (1) Collaboration Projects; (2) Faculty Seed Grants; and (3) Graduate/Professional Student Research Awards. We welcome proposals relating to research on a wide range of topics, and from faculty and graduate/professional students from a variety of disciplines/schools.
Collaboration Projects. CJRC will award amounts up to $6,000 to help support the development of collaborations aimed at: planning inter- or multi-disciplinary projects, convening research-related conferences, supporting working-group activities, developing databases, and facilitating on-going research on crime and criminal justice. Eligibility: All full-time Ohio State University (OSU) faculty whose appointments will continue in the 2008-2009 academic year are eligible to submit an application.
Seed Grants. The Center will award grants ranging from $10,000-$20,000 to: (1) seed research that holds the promise of evolving into a larger externally-funded project; or (2) support the preparation of a proposal targeted to an external funding source. Priority will be given to work that is collaborative and interdisciplinary.
