| Tim Curry is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the Ohio State
University. He has taught introductory sociology for more than 20
years at Ohio State University, from large classes of 300 students to honors
classes of 25 students. He currently serves as the department's chair
of Instructional Development. In addition to teaching introductory
sociology, Dr. Curry, who earned his doctorate from the University of Washington,
also teaches the Sociology of Sport and Men in Society. He has
published more than 25 professional articles on the subjects of social psychology,
sport and society, and visual sociology, as well as three textbooks, Sociology
for the Twenty-First Century, Sports: A Social Perspective, and Introducing
Visual Sociology. Dr. Curry is a member of the American Sociological
Association, the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport, the Society
for the Study of Social Problems, The Midwestern Sociological Society, among
other association memberships. He is a past-president of two sociological
associations: The North American Society for the Sociology of Sport and
the International Visual Sociology Association. Dr. Curry's current
research focuses on mass communication and men's health, and masculinity
