About.

I am originally from Youngstown, Ohio. Outside of sociology, I have a variety of interests, mostly involving creating things: music, paintings, bread products, jam, and most recently I'm learning how to use my new sewing machine.

Current Work

Currently, I am preparing for the candidacy examination. I spent most of this past summer in Southeast Lousiana collecting ethnographic data for my dissertation on the decline of the Gulf Coast shrimping industry. This is an endeavor that will keep me busy for the foreseeable future.
