Entrepreneurial Class in the Process of Economic Transformation
Major Publications~Current interest/work~Publications in Progress

In their paper,  Osobrn and Slomczynski (1997) have investigated who becomes an entrepreneur during various periods after World War II.  In early periods, 1949-1958 and 1959-1968, recruitment patterns involve a large proportion of entrepreneurs who inherited their position.  In 1978-1988 and 1989-1993, there is a shift in recruitment patterns from those based on ascription to those based on achievement: father's position becomes less important and education becomes more important.  In Poland professionalization processes of the entrepreneurial class are parallel to the transformation of the recruitment patterns.

We expand our initial analysis and prepare a book manuscript.
