Considering Sociology or Criminology?
Why are YOU considering Sociology or Criminology? Have you been inspired by a course that you have taken? Or an instructor with whom you have worked? Maybe you have a specific career goal for which one of these majors will prepare you. Are you looking at a graduate program in a related area? All of these are GREAT reasons to choose our majors!
We have put together a variety of information that will help inform you in your decision process: insight from current students, alumni, and faculty; a listing of some of our alumni and the work they are doing; and a listing of possible career paths and employers. Looking through this information is a first step in determining if Sociology or Criminology is the right major for you.
Write down the quotes that inspire you, the job titles that excite you, and the career paths that intrigue you. Bring this list with you to an appointment with either an Academic Counselor or Career Counselor in our department and we can talk about how to continue this process.
This is just the beginning of the journey and we are very excited to be here with you when you begin!
